Wrapping up January at Home

We spent the rest of January at home. Tony worked a lot and Sofia worked on learning new skills. Her favorite activity is standing, then sitting, and then standing again. Sofia also discovered that crawling under her exersaucer makes a great hideout for her and Curious George. Mealtime became a lot more interesting as Sofia started to branch out from just eating pureed baby food to trying some table foods. Sliced turkey and string cheese made for some funny moments in the high chair.

Sofia is still learning that she can only fit so much food in her mouth at once and still be able to chew it.

At the end of the month Grandma Carol and Grandpa Larry came to visit. They brought with them a second Christmas. Sofia was a lot less fussy for this one. She especially loved playing with all the wrapping paper and bows. Sofia may not have even noticed her gifts at the time. Grandpa Larry gave her a family of light up duckies. Bathtime has never been so exciting. A light show will liven up any event.

Then after the excitement of her grandparents' visit had ended, we all truly bonded as a family. We all got the stomach flu and allergies at the same time! Does a family that vomits together stay together? I hope so. Thankfully, we all survived that exhausting last week of January. I would prefer that the next time we have a bonding activity that it's a pleasant one.
